# Javascript

In case of a Vanilla JavaScript scan, Meterian will examine all the files that may contain JavaScript code (HTML, JS, PHP and so on) and it will then proceed to send the results to the server, which will provide the final analysis and proceed to update the report.

This analyser cannot work remotely

Please note that the Vanilla JavaScript is disabled by default, so, in order for it to run, you will need to specifically request the Javascript scan using the parameter `--scan-javascript=true`

See also the section “[Forcing or avoiding specific scans](/the-client/general-operations/forcing-or-avoiding-specific-scans.md)” for more general information
